Details of next generation 2014 Mazda 3 Revealed
Mazda has revealed the details of its Next-Gen 2014 Mazda 3 and has priced the vehicle at a starting price of $17,495 for the senda and $20,795 for the five-door. The next generation of the compact Mazda 3 that was revealed in hatchback form will be styled to resemble the new Mazda 6 and face-lifted CX-9.
The new vehicle that is expected to arrive in the market by late 2013 or early 2014 will feature Mazda's latest Kodo design language, sculpted sheetmetal for aerodynamics and sex appeal. It is learnt that the new 3’s cabin may be less dazzling than the CX-5 and shed weight before it joins the fleet with Mazda 6.
The 3 will share the CX-5’s new lightweight architecture and will retaining the fun-to-drive character. Under the hoods, the vehicle will feature a new 155-hp, 2.0-liter Skyactiv four that can improve on the 40-mpg EPA highway rating of the current model. The Japanese automaker is also considering a diesel variant.
According to the details available, the 2014 Mazda 3 will be manufactured at a new factory in Mexico, allowing Mazda to turn a bigger profit on each sale and subsidize its other models. Currently the entire Mazda lineup is being imported from Japan.
Once launched in the market, the new Mazda 3 will be competing with Honda Civic, Ford Focus, Volkswagen Jetta, and every other compact car.
It is anticipated that sales of the new vehicle will be surging as the Mazda 3 is the bestselling model of the Japanese automaker and is being launched at a time when automakers are depending on compact cars as fuel-efficiency billboards.
